At the 2020 NHL Entry Draft the Montreal Canadiens traded their 2nd round pick that year to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Tampa's 4th that year as well as their 2nd at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

The players selected by the Habs included Sean Farrell and Oliver Kapanen, while the Bolts selected Jack Finley with their newly-acquired 2nd round pick.
