It's great that Russell Wilson is reporting to OTAs. Why didn't he just show up earlier?

Russell Wilson and the rest of the Seahawks veterans didn't report for their voluntary team workouts over the last two weeks. It's something that's been frustrating - after all the Seahawks are trying to install a new offense with new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron - but not the end of the world.

Now Russ and company ARE reporting to OTAs. And that's great. But...uh...why?

It's clear he sees the OTAs as valuable. Why else would he report? But Wilson was holding his own private workouts with his receivers at the same time as those Seahawks OTAs. He could have held them earlier.

There's a chance that Russ was just trying to stay in solidarity with the NFLPA. While technically voluntary, coaches have never exactly viewed OTAs the way the CBA defines it. But if that was the case, why report at all? Especially just for the last week?
