Liverpool Decision To Sign Ibrahima Konate Over Ozan Kabak | EXPLAINED

Liverpool are signing Ibrahima Konate for £36m from Red Leipzig. But while the Anfield doors are opening for the France Under-21 international, they appear to be closing for another centre-back, Ozan Kabak.

Kabak spent the second half of the season on at Liverpool and toward the end of it the club’s manager Jurgen Klopp spoke glowingly of the Turkish international.

However, it now seems certain that the Reds will not be paying the £18m needed - exactly half of what they will stump up for Konate - to make Kabak’s deal a permanent one. So why have they chosen Konate over Kabak? And does it make sense? We explain here.
