6' 6" T.J. VASHER Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver | Film Session

Vasher was a two-time Class 5A All-State selection in both football and basketball for Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. He played in one game as a true freshman in 2016 (two receptions, nine yards) but had to redshirt the season with an injury. The nephew of former Texas and NFL cornerback Nathan Vasher started nine of 11 games played in 2018 (54 receptions, 687 yards, 12.7 average, seven touchdowns) and five of 13 appearances the previous year (29 receptions, 545 yards, 18.8 average, six touchdowns). He led Tech with six receiving touchdowns in 2019, grabbing 42 passes for 515 yards (12.3 per) and starting seven of 10 contests played. He did not make as much of an impact in 2020, however, starting two of seven contests (19 receptions, 227 yards, 12.0 average, two touchdowns). -- by Chad Reuter

High-cut with exceptionally long limbs featuring rare height and length that can stress smaller corners. Vasher's long strides can overtake cornerbacks on over routes but he's not a naturally fast runner as a vertical option. Getting into his routes could be a problem as teams will consistently press and physically challenge him throughout the game to make him prove he can get away and keep his patterns on schedule. The highlight reel catches he makes above-the-rim offer a glimpse of unique ball skills but the question will be whether or not he can even get to the phase of the rep with his lack of play strength and separation explosiveness.

Freaky long arms with massive wingspan.
Release quickness in footwork is better than expected.
Strider with potential to work across the hashes.
Athletic talent and traits to make the circus catch.
Division I basketball prospect with body control over the top.
Extends from toes to tips, creating unique high-point talent.
Has willingness to lay out and snare diving catches in front of him.
Uncle Nathan Vasher was a successful NFL cornerback.

Play strength will be a major concern.
Strong press will compromise release and route integrity.
Strides are long, but speed isn't.
Decelerates out of breaks and into stems.
Extended runway needed, sinking into breaks.
Doesn't hold his ground leveraging space against the boundary.
Disappointing drop rate during his career.
Lacks focus and hand-eye coordination.
