  1. I was a freshman in high school during this season and for some reason it has stuck in my mind. it was kind of a strange season since I live in L.A. and both our teams left! I'm a skins fan so oh well. I thought the Redskins were up and coming after the "long 2 year disaster" of 93-94! Shows what I know….I feel like the past 20 seasons have been one long disaster sometimes. '95 was frustrating, but I remember the skins sweep of dallas fondly and them winning 3 of their last 4 games left things on a positive not. I forget about henry ellard sometimes…that guy was amazing and averaged nearly 20yds/catch.

  2. The 1995 Redskins were much better than their record indicated. Lost some tough games that could have gone either way:

2 close games with the Eagles (14-7, 37-34)

The Elway hailmary in Denver to Rod Smith

Arizona scored a winning TD with 1:16 left

Even with that, they had their moments- swept Dallas, beat playoff-bound Detroit, kept Carolina from being the only expansion team ever to not finish with a losing record.

  3. The most infuriating season I remember was the 2000 season, where we beat both teams that would eventually play in the Super Bowl, we were 7-4 in week 12, ended up losing a string of close games (almost all divisional) because apparently it never occurred to Norv Turner to go find a decent field goal kicker. We ended up going for it on 4th and whatever inside the 30-yard lines because whoever the fuck was our kicker that year couldn't be counted on. Never liked Norv as a coach anyway, far too cautious, even timid half the time. With even a halfway decent kicker we could have gone 11-5, at least 10-6 and made the playoffs. There was no juggernaut that year, no St Louis or New England we couldn't have beat down the stretch.
